Our HONEY POT

We are very proud of our honey selections, and we have a great deal of respect for the artisan, small batch, high-quality apiaries which supply us.

Our latest tasting menu features 50+ varieties for you to experience. The exact product lineup is fluid and always changing; some of the selections are staples, but some are “in and out” because they are limited editions.

Some of the outstanding honey brands
we are proud to offer:

The General’s Hot Sauce, Columbia, SC

The General’s Hot Sauce was conceived by a group of veterans at a tailgater during the 2012 Army-Navy football game. Inspired by a close friend who actually serves as a general in the military & loves to make wings for his friends & family.

The dog tag says it all:

– 86% peppers in every bottle. Every other hot sauce brand you see on the shelves only contain about 10-20% with a bunch of fillers & thickeners. They are dedicated to creating only high quality, all-natural, gourmet products using the very best ingredients.
– American grown. This brand grows all of their peppers in the U.S.A. and every pepper can be traced back to the acre of land it was grown.
– Veteran owned. They serve the greater good by creating jobs for veterans & donating a meaningful percentage of profits back to organizations who support our troops, veterans, & their families every year.

Even as they have grown over 20 years into a world-class operation, they keep the philosophies and work ethics of a small batch, artisan honey company. They source honey from beekeepers around the world, including Belgium and Hungary, and, of course, Savannah and other southeastern locations.

Manuka Doctor, New Zealand

Manuka Honey is known here at Grand Central as the “Queen of Honey.” It comes exclusively from the nectar of the Manuka tea tree, which classifies it as monofloral honey. Manuka is native to New Zealand. It is harvested ethically and certified raw, and closely regulated by the government of New Zealand.

Manuka’s antibacterial properties are well-documented in many studies, and more and more health practitioners are recommending it to their patients. Manuka contains methylglyoxal (MGO) and other bioactive compounds such as leptosperin and DHA as active ingredients. The higher the concentration of MGO, the more potent the benefits. Manuka has antiviral, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant benefits, and can be used to treat wounds and burns. Other areas Manuka has been found to be beneficial in treating:

Acne and eczema
Acid reflux
Staph infections, such as MRSA
Ulcers
Tooth decay and gingivitis
IBS/IBD, Colon Health
Sore throats/overall immunity
Allergies and sinus problems
Skin dullness/dryness
Insomnia

We have chosen to carry 1025 MGO Manuka only. This formula is therapeutic/medical grade and we feel that it has the most health payoff for our customers. Surprisingly, though it has plentiful health benefits, it also tastes smooth, carmelly, and delicious (come taste at our Bee Bar), unlike some others we’ve tried, and the better it tastes, the more likely you’ll be to keep up with your Manuka regimen!

From Florida WITH LOVE

We love doing business with other small businesses in Florida, and the most frequent request from our customers is for Local Honey. We carry delicious artisan raw honey from two hyperlocal apiaries in Naples…Sweet Bees and Naples Finest. We also have quite a few apiaries with whom we partner in other areas of Florida. And, as Floridians well know, the allergy season here in Southwest Florida is more like an allergy year(!), and an overwhelming amount of people swear by local honey to combat the symptoms. Here is a sampling of the great Florida brands we carry:

Naples Honey Company, one of our hyper-local Naples brands, was established in 1999 by Tom May, a cellist in the Naples Philharmonic. He is a third-generation beekeeper and has grown his apiary in Naples to over 120 hives. The official name of his honey is “Naples Finest” and we primarily sell his orange blossom, which is smooth and delicious. Naples Honey and Grand Central Honey also partner on a delicious fall Naples limited edition: “Honey for All Seasons,” a blend of all four seasons’ wildflower honey harvests. Stay tuned…when this one comes in, it sells out in a NY minute!

Located in the Florida panhandle, about an hour’s drive to the east of Panama City in the small town of Wewahitchka. Smiley Honey was started in 1989 by Donald Smiley. They are known for their delicious Tupelo Honey. Taste it, and you will know why.

Smiley also has hives in Africa. We occasionally carry the honey from these hives. The honey is ethically gathered from the blossoms of African flora, creating a robust, extraordinary flavor.
The proceeds of the African Honey benefit the Kafakumba missionary training center. The honey is certified organic and NON-GMO verified.

Sweet Bees is a hyper-local Naples-owned and operated family beekeeping business. Maxwell Goodacre harvests high-quality raw honey. Maxwell is a Master Beekeeper and multi-award-winning honey judge. The varieties on our shelves vary, but they are all excellent.

WeeBee is a family apiary with hives in both New York and Florida. They are fifth-generation beekeepers and have been in business since 1973. No chemicals or pesticides are used on their land, only essential oils. This honey is like eating it straight out of the hive—it is firm, yet smooth and ivory in color, and contains pollen, propolis and honeycomb, all of which are very beneficial. Eating a spoonful after dinner definitely qualifies as dessert–it is that delicious.

The Honey Couple is based in Tampa, FL, and began with a passion for bees and the discovery of all things honey. They started their beekeeping journey with 2 hives and then grew to over 200. Their specialty is raw infused honey. The Honey Couple only uses the highest quality ingredients to
infuse …no extracts, concentrates, or oils.

Danielle Brooks loves drinking tea, especially with honey. One day she thought how awesome it would be to have her own hive. After checking out every book in the library on the subject, she decided to jump in with both feet. What started with one beehive quickly turned into a full scale business. The mission of Honey Truck is to educate others about honey bees, native pollinators, and ways we can help conserve their habitats. Danielle now maintains multiple hives all over the city of St. Augustine. These honeys are cultivated in small batches that are bottled in St. Augustine, Fl.

Manuka Gold is a family-owned Florida business.
They have been in business for two decades, and dedicate themselves to providing natural, high-quality wellness products powered by Manuka Honey.
We carry several of their products, and one we cannot keep in stock is their BEE WELL SUPERFOOD. It is a great blend of Manuka Honey, Lemongrass, turmeric, C8-MCT oil for energy, coconut and ginger. Definitely a fan fave!

Hurricane Brain Hot Honey was inspired by Hurricane Ian that wreaked havoc on SWFL on September 28, 2022.

Each bottle is handcrafted with local wildflower honey infused with datil and bird peppers. These peppers are native to Florida. It’s called hot honey, but please don’t be scared, it’s justa Florida thang. It’s not the heat, it’s the humidity!

Lacey Flynn burns it up with this sauce! Handmade and delicious.
